Half-day internal planning session

Three-day management development program

(held over a 6 – 12 month timeframe)
The three day program, tailored for your organisation, trains your managers in:

  • strategic thinking, creative thinking and problem solving
  • formal strategic planning techniques
  • effective implementation and assessment of strategic plans
  • communicating strategy and gaining buy-in
  • managing effective meetings

Throughout the program, all theory covered is applied to a real-time case study, based around a key issue for your organisation. This includes options for group projects in between program sessions.

Case Study: Practical training in strategic theory

A private sector organisation wanted to ensure that their management group (many of whom had been promoted through operational roles) were confident and adept in strategic planning.

Half-day introduction to strategic thinking
Rosie designed a half-day facilitated session utilising a simplified model to help managers develop options for action to address a current issue for the business.  The applicability of this strategic thinking model to a range of issues was also explored.

Formal planning session
This session was followed six months later by a full-day session with the same group, this time utilising a formal strategic planning model to more deeply analyse a real-time problem and reach consensus on long and short term strategies to address it. The objective was to further apply the concepts learnt in the first session while increasing confidence in strategic planning terminologies and approaches.
